Prevention is the Cure!

I’m back! I hope this finds you happy, healthy and prosperous…

Thanks to those of you who checked in with me over the last several months to ask when the next edition of Ultimate Health Living would be out. I took the summer off to focus on finishing my new book that will be out next spring entitled Living Inside-Out: A Revolutionary Approach to Creating the Life You Want-Today! (Morgan James).

I cannot tell you how excited I am about this book! Over the past year, I’ve gained a deeper understanding as to what it means to live from the inside-out on both a conscious and sub-conscious level. I have had the privilege of interviewing 16 national experts including best-selling authors Brian Biro; Barbara De Angelis, PhD; Jim Karas; Byron Katie; David Katz, MD; Lisa Nichols; Bob Proctor; Paul Scheele and Marci Shimoff.

The discussions we had were amazing! From these I’ve created what I call the “Inside-Out Philosophy” and seven powerful supporting principles to create a healthy, balanced and prosperous life. In each chapter, I weave in the inspiring, hard-earned wisdom of these remarkable individuals. I have to tell you that the icing on the cake for me was when my mentor and friend Jack Canfield agreed to write the foreword.

In the coming months I’ll share more about the book and keep you posted as to when it will be in your local bookstore.

Right now; however, I want to switch gears and talk about another topic I’m passionate about—the prevention and treatment of cancer, especially since this month is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. If you are getting this newsletter, you already know this is an important topic is to me, but let me tell you why.

About eight years ago when I was COO of the National Foundation for Alternative Medicine, I was introduced to a remarkable woman named Susan Silberstein, PhD. Her personal story of losing her young husband to cancer some 20 years prior and out of her loss creating the Center for Advancement in Cancer Education was moving to me—not to mention the powerful impact she and her organization were making on the lives of those in need.

The Cancer Center specializes in providing individualized nutritional, immunological and psychological resources for cancer prevention, prevention of recurrence and support during or after treatment. In the last 30 years the organization has served more than 30,000 cancer patients and trained more than 50,000 prevention seekers. What separates the Cancer Center from other organizations are two very important factors: They focus on primary prevention—not just early detection—through lifestyle education, and their whole-person approach for diagnosed patients focuses primarily on the patient rather than just on the tumor.

This is why I’m so committed to helping spread the word about Susan and the great work of the Center for Advancement in Cancer Education. With the life-time risk of cancer now at 1 in 2 Americans, we have to make an assertive effort to ensure people are aware of the lifestyle choices they are making.

While organizations like StandUp2Cancer are doing a phenomenal job to create awareness and raise funds for cancer research, it takes years to validate promising protocols. There is already ample scientific evidence that diet and other lifestyle choices dramatically influence both risk for cancer and outcome for diagnosed patients. The National Cancer Institute estimates that cancer deaths avoidable through dietary change run as high as 75%.

As a reader of Ultimate Health Living, ask yourself to become more aware of the lifestyle choices you are making. What are you eating most of the time and what are you feeding your family? How are you nurturing, loving and taking care of yourself? How is your environment supporting you? What is the health of your relationships with your life-partner, children, parents, siblings and friends?

I invite you to start first with becoming consciously aware of what you’re using to fuel your body—and I want to tell you about some wonderful tools to help:

Since 2005, Ultimate Health Group, LLC has been a corporate partner of the Center for Advancement in Cancer Education. Over the past year, Susan and I have been discussing how we could make a significant impact on people’s lives in terms of cancer protection.  I’m thrilled to share with you that we have just released the Beat Cancer Kit Series—Beat Cancer Diet Kit, Beat Cancer Tool Kit and Beat Breast Cancer Kit.

The life-changing information provided in the Beat Cancer Kits is based on published scientific research on effective nutritional, immune-enhancing and non-toxic strategies for preventing cancer, preventing recurrence, and even helping to reverse cancer.  (To learn more and receive a couple of great free reports visit http://www.beatcancerkit.com/.)

In addition to the powerful resources in these kits, if you or someone you know has cancer, definitely contact the Center for Advancement in Cancer Education (www.BeatCancer.org.) They are a vital resource and never turn away anyone in need.

If you are serious about creating your ultimate life, then the place to start is your state of health and well-being. I called my company Ultimate Health Group because ultimately our health affects our productivity and our ability to achieve our goals and dreams. So get started today! Prevention is the Cure!

It is good to be back and I look forward to the next seven months as we prepare for the launch of Living Inside-Out. I leave later today for an exciting adventure to Madrid and Marrakech and promise to return with stories to tell. Eddie, UHL
